IJINLE BAND - Tribute to Dayo Kujore

 

Back in the 80s & 90s, one artiste on the lips of lovers of Nigerian traditional music was Wonder Dayo Kujore. Dayo topped the chart with his brand of melodic Juju music for a long while rubbing shoulders with the likes of King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, and Sir Shina Peters to mention just a few. When the sad news of the passing unto eternal glory of Wonder Dayo Kujore on Jan 10, 2022, was announced by his family, we in the Lavolta Entertainment Family were dumbfounded and heartbroken just like most lovers of Nigerian traditional music. One of our Directors was still lamenting that he unavoidably missed the Late Dayo Kujore’s show on the Island at Gbedu Music Village a few months back, now the legend is gone. To immortalize our legend who touched our hearts for several decades with his melodic voice, music, composition, beats... we swung into action to produce a song in his loving memo and titled it Amapiano Tribute to Wonder Dayo Kujore. We initially produced the song in Dayo Kujore’s traditional Juju music but we wanted to reach out to a wider audience in immortalizing our legend so we decided to produce the song in Amapiano. This song was written and produced by one of us in the Lavolta Entertainment family, Daniel Lombin, the Lead Vocalist and Image Coordinator of the Lavolta Stars. We love you Wonder Dayo Kujore, but our good God loves you more. Sleep on in eternal music, sun re ooo.
